New Hope News Briefs
FILL THE BOAT CAMPAIGN UNDERWAY!
We learned in Bible School how Jesus helped the disciples fill the nets with a “billion fish” (As Charlie told the story). Those fish helped feed a lot of hungry people. So we too (With help from Jesus) are going to fill out boat with food to help feed hungry people. Please bring in your non perishable food items and place them in the boat. We will fill the boat and share the miraculous catch with those in need. Pray for a tremendous catch!
Formal classes will begin Sunday September 14th for all ages. If your child will be participating in Sunday School please pick up a registration form on the hospitality table and bring it with you or complete the online registration form here. We will also be having classes for Adults so don’t drop them off and run. Join us for this very special hour of learning and sharing God’s Word!
New Adult Sunday School Class to be offered.
“The Box Office Gospel” will be led by Kelly McClintock. This class will look at movies and see who they present the Gospel and raise issues of faith. A great way to talk about faith in our culture. The class will meet in the Adult Sunday School Room. All are welcome to attend.
We welcome into our family of faith Vincent James Cassetta as he is splashed in the waters of God’s Amazing Grace! Vincent in the son of Anthony and Abbey Cassetta. Please join us in welcoming our new brother.
Jesse Hooper and Britney Degroft have announced their intention to wed on September 20th. Your prayers are requested for this couple as they begin this journey together as husband and wife.
Don’t forget to join us for some fellowship every Sunday Morning from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.
Reminder - We will again start using name tags this week. If you do not have one, please put your name on the tablet and one will be made for you.
Youth Group Fall Kick Off will be on Sunday September 21. We will start with a fabulous All You Can Eat Taco Buffet at 5:00 p.m. Meeeting kicks off at 6:00 with some wild games other wacky stuff. Friends are always welcome! We will also share some of the exciting stuff we have planned for the new year! Don’t miss it!
Wacky Wednesdays, our midweek Children’s program, will reconvene on Wednesday, October 1st at New Hope Faith Community. The program starts at 4:00 p.m. and concludes at 5:30. All children 4 years and older are encouraged to come and join us for crafts, games, Bible Lessons, and of course singing! Please sign-up your child on the sheet located on the Hospitality Table. Please see Jean Bollinger if you have any questions.
New Hope welcomes Daisy Troop!
A new Daisy Troop will be forming under the leadership of Amanda Fair. Any young ladies who are in kindergarten and who would like to participate are encouraged to register online at girlscouts.org. Meetings will be held at New Hope on every other Thursday beginning October 2. If you have any questions please feel free to speak to Amanda Fair.
We welcome any new Third Graders who would like to Acolyte during the worship services to come to a special training session held on Sunday October 5 immediately following the late service. If you are interested or have any questions please speak to Pastor Tim.
Men’s Breakfast is scheduled for October 11th at 8:00 a.m. at Railside Catering. All men of New Hope are invited to join us! For more information please speak to Pastor Jeff.
New members will be received on Sunday October 26 at the 10:45 am service. New member's Introduction will be held on Sunday October 19 and 26 during the Sunday School Hour. If you are interested in joining with New Hope please speak to Pastor Tim or call the church office to register. New Member information sheets are available on the hospitality table and should be filled out by all those who desire to unite in our fellowship.
We have been asked by the New Hope Food Pantry if we could do an immediate collection of Toilet Paper for the Pantry. So in addition to your Paper towels please bring in your gift so toilet paper to be shared with the guest who come to the Food Pantry.
We are also in need of volunteers to help with the PAL (Provide A Lunch) Program which provides a hot meal to those in need. We have two teams that work on a six week rotation. Teams gather on Mondays at 8:30 a.m. and work until about 1:00 p.m. Volunteers prepare, serve and clean up from the days meal. Please consider helping with the important ministry. Please see Diana Harner or Pastor Tim if you are interested in helping.
We are also in DESPERATE NEED OF volunteers to help at the Food Pantry on Saturdays. If you could spare three hours a month to help us distribute food to those in need please speak to Pastor Tim. The need is immediate and DESPERATE! So please help!
Drivers Needed for the HopeMobile
We need folks from the 8:00 service who might be willing to drive around the parking lot in our HopeMobile and pick up worshippers and deliver them to the front door. If you are interested please see Pastor Tim.
Hanover Area Council of Churches is looking for volunteers for our reception desk during July and August on Monday and Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm. Duties include answering phone, directing clients to Clothing Bank and PAL lunch, writing thank you notes, light office work. No experience necessary other than an interest in helping others. Please call the HACC office at 717-633-6353 if you are interested.
Box of Hope
We will be gathering paper towels to share with the guests of New Hope Food Pantry. Please bring in your paper towels and place them in the Box of Hope. (Blue Tub)
Special Offering - September
Our offering for this month will go to help young Gideon Brown. Gideon is the grandson of member Susan Johnston and the great grandson of Pastor and Mrs. Molzahn. Gideon has been hospitalized recently as doctors seek to discover what has afflicted him. Your gifts will help Gideon (and his mom Sarah) make it through this difficult time. Thank you for your generosity!

We have found chairs that we will be using in our new home in our worship space. You may see a sample of the new chair which is located by the hospitality table. The cost of each chair is $30.00 We are asking folks to help sponsor one or more of the chairs. Please fill out the form and place it in the colored envelope located on the hospitality table. Turn in your forms to Pastor Tim or Jean Bollinger. We have ordered 250 chairs so please help us in this program!

Community Aid Box
New Hope to Broadcast Sunday Service! Beginning Sunday March 2 our worship service will be broadcast on WHVR 1280 AM from 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. If you would like to sponsor the broadcast in memory or honor of someone you may sign up to do so. The cost is 50 dollars. There can be more than one sponsor on a given Sunday Your dedication will be broadcast as part of the radio program. If you have any question please see Pastor Tim.
Many of you have noticed that we now have a Community Aid box in our parking lot. Please put your donations in this box to be shared with Community Aid. New Hope will receive 4 cents a pound for all donations. And monies raised by Community Aid are funneled back into many of the ministries we support in our community.
