An emergency plan has been prepared by the Church Council in the event of a violent incident here at New Hope. This plan will be presented to the congregation on Sunday October 23 immediately following both worship services. It is IMPERATIVE that everyone be here to understand what we need to do if something tragic happens during worship. We encourage everyone to attend especially USHERS and SUNDAY SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS. While we would rather not have this conversation, it is important today that we talk about this as a church family.

Pajama Project Ingathering - On Sunday November 13th we will have a special ingathering for the Pajama Project We are asking everyone to bring in one pair of new pajamas for a child in need along with a book that can be read to them at night. Countless children who live in homeless shelters never know the feeling of putting on a nice new pair of pajamas and rarely have anyone read a story to them. The pajama project seeks to help them have this experience. Please choose whether you want to get girls or boys pajamas. All pajamas must be TWO PIECES and then find a great children’s book. Bundle them together and bring them to worship with you on November 13. It’s really that simple and what a difference it will make to a child in need!
Chick Flicks Bible Study for women of ALL AGES (Chick Flicks is a movie genre NOT an age!). Neighbors Helping Neighbors Helping Neighbors – Our neighbor, The Little Red Schoolhouse, has asked us to help them in their School Coat Drive for Kids. During the month of October we will help them by collecting coats, hats, gloves/mittens, scarves, etc. You may bring your donations here to New Hope or take your items directly to the Little Red Schoolhouse. These items will be shared with other neighbors (one or several of our local social service agencies).
I am doing a donation called Hannah’s Grace in memory of my daughter Hannah Grace Baral. I am collecting money to go to Whispering Cross Necklaces. These necklaces along with a weighted bear and a card will be donated to Hanover Hospital to mothers who have just lost a baby. Any amount will help. You have the option to place the amount of your choosing in the Hannah’s Grace collection bin or you can donate the full amount of the necklace in your name or in memory of someone. Thank you-Julie Baral.
ACTS 4:32 Ministry Launched February 1. We have launched a special emphasis on prayer beginning February 1. In the Book of Acts we are told that “All the believers were one in heart and mind.” We want to spend a moment each day in this type of unity. To participate in this ministry is very simple.
1. Set your phone, your iPad, your watch, your computer, or even your alarm clock
To ring each day at 4:32 PM.
2. Check our New Hope Website where the Prayer Request of the Day will be listed.
3.When your alarm goes off….pray for that request.
It’s that simple. But imagine for one minute out of every day we will all be united in heart and mind as we pray together. How beautiful and amazing will that be!
You will notice in the chair pockets blue prayer slips. If you would like to include someone in the prayers of the community during worship this morning please place their name on the prayer slip and pass it to the center aisle. During the playing of “Come Now Is the Time to Worship” the slips will be collected by the Ushers and given to Pastor. PLEASE WRITE LEGIBLY!!
Special Offering - October
Special Offering for the Month of October is Community Outreach Project. New Hope has been helping some elderly folks out with some projects around their homes. We helped put a new roof on a home and are now looking at building a ramp for a home in New Oxford. We supply the labor and the materials. Your gifts will help us complete these projects and share God’s love in a tangible way with our neighbors.
Don’t forget to bring in your Aluminum Cans. There is a can located by the coat racks in the entrance area in which you can drop them off.
Be sure to keep us updated on any email changes. You can notify Pastor Tim at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jean Bollinger at email@example.com.
