Where Did I Put That Map?: Expectations and the Journey of Marriage
When is the last time you unfolded (or Googled) your marriage map, acknowledging and evaluating expectations that you hold? Whether you are newlyweds, marriage veterans, the type that asks for directions, or the type that wants to find your own way, taking time to focus on expectations can be a great way to boost or reinforce your marital satisfaction. God has given you your spouse as a precious gift. Join Professor Paul Johns, Associate Professor of Human Development and Human Science at Messiah College on Friday evening, September 9th and Saturday, September 10th as we enjoy time together focusing on how to love our spouses with a grace-filled expectation map.
Note: This is NOT Marriage Counseling but think of it as a Bible Study for Marriage. Dr. Johns will explore expectations in marriage and show what is the world telling us and what does the Bible say. Registration forms are on the Hospitality Table.
Workshop fee is $25 per couple and includes registration, Friday night dessert reception, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and workshop materials. Please sign up and have your checks made out to New Hope Faith Community by August 31st.
I am doing a donation called Hannah’s Grace in memory of my daughter Hannah Grace Baral. I am collecting money to go to Whispering Cross Necklaces. These necklaces along with a weighted bear and a card will be donated to Hanover Hospital to mothers who have just lost a baby. Any amount will help. You have the option to place the amount of your choosing in the Hannah’s Grace collection bin or you can donate the full amount of the necklace in your name or in memory of someone. Thank you-Julie Baral.
ACTS 4:32 Ministry Launched February 1. We have launched a special emphasis on prayer beginning February 1. In the Book of Acts we are told that “All the believers were one in heart and mind.” We want to spend a moment each day in this type of unity. To participate in this ministry is very simple.
1. Set your phone, your iPad, your watch, your computer, or even your alarm clock
To ring each day at 4:32 PM.
2. Check our New Hope Website where the Prayer Request of the Day will be listed.
3.When your alarm goes off….pray for that request.
It’s that simple. But imagine for one minute out of every day we will all be united in heart and mind as we pray together. How beautiful and amazing will that be!
You will notice in the chair pockets blue prayer slips. If you would like to include someone in the prayers of the community during worship this morning please place their name on the prayer slip and pass it to the center aisle. During the playing of “Come Now Is the Time to Worship” the slips will be collected by the Ushers and given to Pastor. PLEASE WRITE LEGIBLY!!
