New Hope News Briefs
New Hope Offering Wednesday Night Worship Service!!
In hopes that we can reach out and welcome folks who might not be able to worship with us on Sunday mornings and to offer another opportunity to worship we will launch a Wednesday Night Worship Service at 6:00 pm.This service will be about 45 minutes in length and will include Holy Communion. Please help us spread the word and help grow this worship service.
Easter Breakfast tickets are available for purchase today. The breakfast will be held on Sunday, April 5th at 8:00 a.m. Tickets are $5.00 for 13 years and older, $2.50 for ages 5-12 and children ages 4 and under are free. Our breakfast menu will consist of: scrambled eggs, ham, assorted pastries, fruit cup, coffee and juice. Please join us for a special time of fellowship as we celebrate the resurrection.
Don’t Forget Musical Rehearsal will be held at 2:00 p.m. Don’t miss the boat!! You will be L.O.S.T. if you don’t come to practice! Cruise on over to rehearsal. If you have any questions please see Debbie Jo!
A MURDER MYSTERY??
First Church has died a tragic and horrible death. But what caused the death? Who or what is to blame?? Join us we spend our Lenten journey performing an autopsy to determine what happened. We’ll dissect and discuss an maybe prevent the same tragedy from befalling our own beloved community.
Lenten Soup and Study began on Sunday February 22 at 6:00 p.m. Please join us for a light supper of soup and sandwich and then for a time of study and conversation. We will be studying “The Autopsy of A Deceased Church” by Thom Rainer. Please sign up at the hospitality table if you plan on attending.
Build a Well! Help us to raise funds to build a well for a city that needs to have fresh water! We will fill our water bottle and help share this precious gift of life with those in need! In order to help us raise the funds we will be calling out everyone who doesn't have their anchor pin on during Lent. The fine will be 25 cents. So be sure you have your Anchor pin and be sure to snitch on your friends who don’t!!!
First Communion Retreat
First Communion Retreat will be held for all 4th and 5th Graders on Saturday March 28th. This day long retreat will help our young people understand more about why we celebrate Holy Communion and what it means. There is no cost for this retreat. Please call the church office to register your child and you will receive an informational letter in the mail. DEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS TODAY SUNDAY MARCH 8!!!!
YOUTH EVENTS FOR MARCH
Join us on March 21st for an evening of fun and fellowship. We will be hosting a Progressive Dinner which begins at 5:00 p.m. Please meet at church where we will journey from house to house for each course of our meal. Our last stop will be dessert and watching “Dumb and Dumber2”. Join us for some laughs and some fun! Sign up on the Hospitality table.
Sunday March 29 - Dodgeball at the Maple Avenue Middle School. Join us for an afternoon of fun and game. Meet at Maple Avenue Middle School at 2 p.m. for some fun in the gym. Afterwards we are going to go to Dino’s for some pizza and laughs! Bring a few friends and we will have a great time. Sign up on the hospitality table!
Children's Easter Event!
Easter Event for Children will be held Saturday April 4th at 9:00 a.m. All children are invited to join us for a special celebration of the Resurrection!
New Hope to welcome Captive Free!!
Captive Free a musical ministry team sponsored by Youth Encounter will be with us on Sunday April 12 to lead worship and share their message. We will also be holding a special Saturday evening concert on April 11th at 7:00 p.m. We are in need of families who would be willing to host one of the young people on Friday and Saturday night. Please speak to Pastor Tim if you are interested. And be sure to mark your calendars for this exciting event.
Soup Makers Needed!
We are looking for folks who might do some soup delivery. We have delicious soup that we want to share with those who are ill or may need to know that we love them. We will assign you a week and all you have to do is call the office see if we have some deliveries to make and come pick up the soup and deliver it to those on the list. It’s simple, It’s kind and it’s compassionate. And it’s the perfect job for you!!! Please let Pastor Tim know if you are interested.

Hershey Bears Hockey
the Fellowship Committee has reserved 40 seats at the Giant Center for the Bears game on Saturday, March 28th at 7:00 p.m. Forms and food options are on the Hospitality Table. Turn in forms and money to Bob Horan by Thursday, February 26th.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study!
Wednesday Evening Bible Study will be gathering at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday for a time of study and conversation about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. We will be studying “Discipleship Essentials” by Greg Odgen. Please sign up if you are going to participate in the study. You may purchase your own book or if you would like us to order you one, please indicate when you sign up. Cost is 15 dollars and you can also order it as an e-book. We look forward to this time of growth and study.
New Hope is in need of additional volunteers to man the Nursery during the 10:45 a.m. worship service. Two volunteers would be assigned this position approximately every 6 weeks (depending on the number of additional volunteers). If you have a desire to watch over these little angels for an hour or so please see Jean Bollinger.

We have enjoyed using the name tags to help us get to know one another over the past few years. We have grown such that there are so many tags that we no longer have a place to keep them. We will discontinue holding your name tags so please take yours with you and don’t forget to keep wearing your anchor pins!

Soap!! Please bring in bars of soap that will be distributed to those who we are privileged to serve. Please help us gather these essential items that are needed. So when you shop why not grab an extra item or two to help those in need.

Special Offering - March – Victims of February Fire
A young lady in our community recently lost her home in an early morning fire during a terrible cold spell. Our gifts will be shared with her as she looks for a new home and begins to recover from the devastation of the fire. Thank you for your generosity.

Many of you have noticed that we now have a Community Aid box in our parking lot. Please put your donations in this box to be shared with Community Aid. New Hope will receive 4 cents a pound for all donations. And monies raised by Community Aid are funneled back into many of the ministries we support in our community.

We have found chairs that we will be using in our new home in our worship space. You may see a sample of the new chair which is located by the hospitality table. The cost of each chair is $30.00 We are asking folks to help sponsor one or more of the chairs. Please fill out the form and place it in the colored envelope located on the hospitality table. Turn in your forms to Pastor Tim or Jean Bollinger. We have ordered 250 chairs so please help us in this program!

For those of you who shop at Kennie’s Market in Littlestown please fill out a Community Treasures Form (Located on the Hospitality Table) and turn it in at Kennie's. A portion of your purchases will be donated back to New Hope.
New Hope to Broadcast Sunday Service! Beginning Sunday March 2 our worship service will be broadcast on WHVR 1280 AM from 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. If you would like to sponsor the broadcast in memory or honor of someone you may sign up to do so. The cost is 50 dollars. There can be more than one sponsor on a given Sunday Your dedication will be broadcast as part of the radio program. If you have any question please see Pastor Tim.
Wacky Wednesdays, our midweek Children’s program, at New Hope Faith Community. The program starts at 4:00 p.m. and concludes at 5:30. All children 4 years and older are encouraged to come and join us for crafts, games, Bible Lessons, and of course singing! Please sign-up your child on the sheet located on the Hospitality Table. Please see Jean Bollinger if you have any questions.
New Hope Daisy Troop!
Formal classes are underway. If your child will be participating in Sunday School please pick up a registration form on the hospitality table and bring it with you or complete the online registration form here. We will also be having classes for Adults so don’t drop them off and run. Join us for this very special hour of learning and sharing God’s Word!
New Adult Sunday School Class
“The Box Office Gospel” is being led by Kelly McClintock. This class looks at movies and how they present the Gospel and raise issues of faith. A great way to talk about faith in our culture. The class meets in the Adult Sunday School Room. All are welcome to attend.
